ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay is a new hotel located at Raffles Boulevard. It used to be Marina Mandarin Singapore but PR Hotel Group had since taken over and had a major renovation of the hotel.

Upon entering the hotel lobby, I was greeted with a very greenery lobby and atrium. The old ex Marina Mandarin Chandeliers were still kept and the Chinese Statue. The Main Lobby is located on the 4th Floor. As I took the elevator to the 4th floor, I was greeted with more beautiful greenery that surrounded the 2nd and 3rd Floor.

As I reached the 4th Floor of the hotel lobby, I was literally WOWED by the revamp and how the hotel felt more welcoming. There were birds singing on the 5th floor that surrounded the lobby.

Check-in

As I approach to the Reception, there was a queue as many people where checking in. It took about 10-15mins and it reached my turn. I had 2 Bookings. One was with the SG Discovery Voucher while the next 4 days was used with the Hotel Staycation Promotion.

I originally had booked the basic room which was the Urban king but I was given a low floor. Therefore, I decided to upgrade and was given the Signature Marina Bay Room which was situated on the 17th Floor. Overall, the Check-in Staff was efficient and check-in was a breeze.

Sofitel Singapore Sentosa

Room Type: 2 Twin Bedded Luxury Garden Room

Sofitel Singapore Sentosa is an Amazing and Beautiful property located in Sentosa. It is a 5 star hotel property and it brings you away from the hustling and bursting of Singapore Fast Paced city life.

Check In

As the taxi enters the Main Drive way of Sofitel Singapore Sentosa, we were greeted with a beautiful driveway of the Hotel Property that makes you feel you are really away from Home(Singapore). As you enter the Grand and Beautiful Lobby (which was decorated with Chinese New Year Decorations), the bell boy showed us to the check in area.

Due to the current situation, only one person would be allowed to do the check in. As there was only 1 staff, the check in was a bit long but it was understandable. The staff was warm and welcoming and greeted me with a smile during the Check in process. She did the necessary documentations and within 5 mins I had gotten my Room key card.

Room:

From the Reception to the room, it was honestly a beautiful walk. The property filled with Animal Art Decor and fountains surrounding the hotel. Our Room was on the 1st Floor #174 at the Peace Wing Building.

As I tapped my Key card to open the doors to our room, we were greeted with a beautiful Resort designed of the room. The room was a comfortable 36sqm in Size. Upon entering, there was a nice sized Twin Bedded and a very large LCD TV. The pillows were soft and fluffy and the bed was bouncy and good. I loved the Leaves design on the bed headboard. The lightings in the room were brightly lit around and has a generous sunlight that came from the porch that we had.

The toilet had a very nice playful art decor by the nice sized bathtub, The vanity area was big and the shower area was very spacious. I love the toilet marble floor tiles. Overall, this room is very beautiful especially with the porch that allows you to interact with the Peacocks that drops by to say Hi to you. I had 4 female and one baby peacock that came to visit me in the afternoon. What a beautiful sight to connect together with Mother Nature.

Services and Amenities:

The Cliff: We had 2 complimentary breakfast at The Cliff Restaurant. This was so far the best Breakfast View I ever had in my Singapore Staycation Journey. With a view over looking the Sea and Mother Nature, it was simply just breath taking.

The breakfast Menu Spread was good. I had the American Breakfast and Nasi Lemak together with some fruits. The service staff at the Cliff was also very attentive.

The Cliff: 10/10

Pool:

The pool was very big and had lots of Lounge Chairs. It is located next to the Cliff Restaurant and had an amazing view of the South China Sea and Mother Nature. If you are lucky, the Peacocks might also come and visit you at the Pool.

Pool Rating: 10/10

Overall, I have to say, Sofitel Singapore Sentosa amazed me. It was truly an amazing property that takes us away from our Stress life back in the Main Land. The service in the hotel was impeccable. I would definitely come back to stay at this property next night at least 2 Nights. Thank you Sofitel Singapore Sentosa for everything =)

Four Points by Sheraton Namsan

Date of Stay : 7th Jan 2020 – 9th Jan 2020

Room Type : 1 King Bed Superior Corner Room

Located in vibrant Yongsan Gu, Four Points by Sheraton Seoul, it is just 10 mins walk from Seoul Station that is connected from the underground to the Hotel Property. We took the Limousine Bus 6001 from Incheon International airport and it takes about 1 hour to arrive right in front of the Hotel Property Bus Stop.

Check-In

We approached to the Entrance of the Hotel and entered the 1st floor where the Lift takes us to the 19th Floor where the Main Hotel Lobby is located. As the doors open, we entered a nice and small lobby where the Reception and the Hotel bar is located and also the Hotel’s Main Dining Restaurant called “The Eatery” is located.

We proceeded to the Check-in Receptionist and was greeted with a Smile by the Staff. He checked my reservations and within less than 5 mins, we were given our Room Key. It was fast and efficient.

The only downside on this part was there wasn’t any Doormen to assist us with our luggage at the 1st Floor or something which a hotel should have I feel especially coming from a Marriott Brand.

Room

We proceeded to take the Lift on the 23rd floor where our room is located. Our Room number was 2328 and we were given a Superior Corner Room. As I tapped the Key Card, I was amazed by the room size with its 2 sides window giving an amazing view of Seoul and especially Namsan Seoul Tower from our Bed.

The room is about 30sq2m in size with a nice comfortable King Size bed. The Working desk is facing another part of Seoul and it comes with a 32inch LCD flat screen TV that was sufficient for us to watch from our bed.

The toilet comes with a Shower Area, a Toilet bowl and a vanity Sink area. It has a Body Wash and Shampoo Dispenser separately. The water pressure from the shower is also strong despite staying on the 23rd floor.

Overall, the Superior Room is Adequately good in Size although it had a hard time putting our large luggages. Next time will book a Deluxe room where it is larger for sure.

Services and Amenities

Gym: The hotel’s Gym is located on the 20th Floor where the other Guest Rooms are located at. Sadly it doesn’t have any windows to give you a good view of Seoul when doing your workout. The Gym room is really small and it only has the Dumbbell weights with Cardio equipments. But its a hotel gym so can’t comment much.

Gym Rating: 3/5

Service: Overall service from the Hotel staff is really very good. They were helpful, attentive and always with a smile.

I have only one minor comment which was I accidentally left my Shoe Bags in the hotel room and didn’t realise until 2 days later. When I call to check the hotel, they said yes they had my shoe bag and was waiting a call from me. I think this part of service is lacking as I feel that if you have found someone’s property, shouldn’t you email or contact the Hotel Guest to let them know rather then waiting for the guest to find out itself?

Overall, My hotel stay is really good. I would definitely stay here again in a Deluxe room for 1 night as its a Good location at Seoul Station.

Holiday Inn Express HongDae

Welcome to Holiday Inn Seoul Hongdae! It is situated just next to Hongik University Train Station (Exit 5) within 15 secs and it is in the heart of Hongdae area. Holiday Inn Express is a relatively new Budget hotel under the IHG Group brands. I will be staying here for 3 Nights. So lets see what the hotel has to offer us!

Check-in:

The hotel is 16-Storey Building which is also connected to a mall. As we enter the building, we would have to take the lift to the 7th Floor where the Hotel Lobby is Located. Upon arriving on the 7th floor, we were greeted with an Atrium lobby with the colours of Holiday inn Express theme. The lobby was very spacious and the design of the lobby was very welcoming.

We proceeded to the check-in Counter where we were greeted and also acknowledge for being an IHG Spire Member. The staff did the necessary check in procedures and within 2 mins, we had gotten our Room Keys.

Check-In Rating: 10/10

Room:

Our room is situated on the 15th Floor and is Room Number 1508. As I tapped the card, I was greeted with a nice sized room (Coming from a Holiday Inn Express) and had the view of Hongdae area.

Upon entering the room, there a nice adequately sized toilet. The hotel provides its own Shampoo and Body Wash (Holiday Inn Express usual). It comes with a One sink and a nice sized mirror. It has all the basic toiletries needed for a hotel.

Moving into the room, we had a nice Queen sized bed, a large LCD flat screen TV. The wardrobe was an “outdoor” concept where we were able to hang our clothes. It had a small working desk which was facing the HongDae city view and a small couch.

We were here for 3 nights and as it was winter, the hotel Main Aircon wasn’t “ON” so we had to rely on just opening the windows and letting the Cold Air to come in

Marriott Sukhumvit Bangkok I’m impressed

Date of Stay : 7th Aug – 10th Aug 2019

Room type : 1 King bedroom Deluxe

Marriott Sukhumvit Bangkok is located in the Heart of Thonglor and it’s also just a 3 mins walk from Thonglor BTS. Marriott Bangkok hotel is a 46 storey building with their own Rooftop Bar called “Octave”. This is my first time staying in this Marriott Property and also been a Long time I ever stayed in any Marriott hotel groups (besides SPG).

Check in:

Upon entering the lobby, I was greeted by the massive lobby Thai interior design. The Doorman took hold of my luggage and I proceeded to the check in reception. It was about 1030am only and I wasn’t sure if I was able to have an early check in.

The receptionist greeted me and welcomed me to the hotel. The receptionist was warm and always chatted with me with a Smile. She told me that my actual Check in was at 12pm but they already had a room ready for me anyway. The check in was fast and smooth and within 5 mins I managed to get my key card

Check in Rating : 10/10

Room:

My room was on the 31st floor and as I tapped the room key card, I was amazed and wowed by the size of the room. The room was large at about 38-40sqm and very spacious. It came with a large LCD flat screen TV but the TV channels thou wasn’t that fantastic as I would expect it to have more varieties being an international hotel. The Bed was large and very comfortable for the next 3 nights and next to the bed was a nice radio clock. The room also had a nice size working desk that overlooked thonglor area with its large windows.

What impressed me about the room was the huge marble toilet. It had a large sized vanity sink area with a huge bathtub and shower area together that is enough to fit 10 people!! It also overlooked thonglor area but the blinds were provided of course for privacy! The shower toiletries where from THANN brand that is from Thailand and it was amazing!

Overall, this room was very good!

Service and Facilities:

Gym:

The hotel gym is located in the 7th Floor and it is a very good sized gym even for an advanced gymmer. The Staff were always in the gym friendly and willing to help if any advice was needed! You could also request for the hotels own Personal Trainer if needed!

Pool:

The pool was overlooking thonglor and was a good sized “infinity Pool”. It had a lot of Pool deck chairs and even a pool bar beside it! I didn’t get to use it as at times it was crowded with families.

Pool Rating : 10/10

Service:

The service from this hotel is absolutely amazing. From the Doorman to Check in to Operators to the Housekeepers. Everyone was very Happy to serve you and willing to go all out for whatever requests you give them. For example, I requested 2 Large Hotel Shopping bags and they said they were try to find, after 30 mins, the Doorbell rang and the staff apologised that they didn’t have any 2 large Hotel Shopping bags but offered me 2 medium sized “INNISFREE” shopping bag lol. I just laughed and took it and the staff just kept apologising. I mean, this service is really amazing to me. Marriott really open up my choices now for future hotel reservations!

Overall:

I will be back to stay at this hotel for sure! Really Convenient and the price is affordable. Everything is amazing and I hope to try their Executive lounge the next time!

Holiday Inn Express Sukhumvit 11

Ok! My apologies to everyone! It’s been quite sometime since I’ve been blogging! In my honest opinion, I been travelling a lot but have always been staying mostly in the Same Hotel Properties that I have Blogged before! Therefore, now it’s time to move to new Properties and try it out!

Date of Stay: 6th Aug 2019 – 7th Aug 2019

Room Type: 1 Queen Size Bed Room

Let’s start with this new post! Holiday Inn Express Sukhumvit 11 is located just 5-7 Mins walk from the BTS NaNa station. This area has lots of Nightclubs, Bars, Cafes and Roadside Food Vendors. For the price and location I’m paying, I have to say it’s really worth it! Let’s take a look below at how my stay went!

Check In:

Arrived at the Hotel by GrabCar from the International Airport at 7pm and I proceeded to the Check in Receptionist! As I had stayed at this property for the 1st time in July 2019, I decided to do it again for just this one short night! The staff proceeded to do my Check in and also welcomed me Back and acknowledged my IHG MEMBERSHIP! Within 2 mins, I gotten my room key and she wished me a Good Stay.

Check In Rating : 10/10

Room

My room is located on the TOP Floor! Room 0819 corner room. As I tapped my card and unlock the room door, I was greeted by a comfortable room size with a nice Queen size Bed! The room comes with a large 40″ LCD flat screen TV and a nice sized Working desk.

The toilet is also well in sized and comes with Holiday Inn Express 2-in-1 body/Shampoo wash! The shower water was also strong too and had the basic toilet amenities one traveller would need.

Over all, I was very happy as usual with this lovely comfy room!

Service and Others:

Booking a holiday inn Express room get you a complimentary Breakfast. The Breakfast is located in their Great Room (located on the G Floor/Basement). The breakfast is simple and nice. There is also a Take n Go breakfast in case you are in a rush in the early morning!

The Fitness centre is located on the Rooftop and it is small and has its basic gym equipment needs. It’s really more for a Beginner gym person I must say.

Overall, the Staff here has been nothing but Excellent and served with a Smile! Even the Housekeeper thanked me for my stay and wished me a safe trip ahead! If you are on a Budget and would like to stay in a simple yet affordable hotel, I would recommend you to try Holiday inn express Sukhumvit 11

Crowne Plaza Barcelona

Date of Stay: 23rd July – 28th July 2018

Room: Club Suite Room king Bed

Crowne Plaza Barcelona is located at the Fira Centre where it is just a 5 mins walk from Plaza Espanya. The hotel is a 7 Storey building that comes with a Rooftop Swimming pool and a nice Restaurant cum Bar where it is good to have a good view of almost the whole of Barcelona. It is also about 15 mins taxi ride from the Main International Airport. Lets take a look at how CP Barcelona Faired.

Check-In

I proceeded to the receptionist to do my Check-in and I was greeted and welcomed as a IHG Spire Ambassador Member at the same time. As my booking was a Club Room and that got me upgraded to their Club Suite, they showed me to the Club Lounge (Located on the second floor) to proceed with my Check-In.

The Club lounge was big but a bit quite dated to be honest. As I was waiting for my Check-in to be done, I was offered a choice of beverage to wait for them to process my documents. Within 5 mins, my check-in was done and my room was ready.
